Entretisser
Artistic creation in collaboration with dancer Suzie Babin and videographer Kilyann Guillaume
Entretisser (to interweave) is a dialogue between dance and music, or more exactly movement and sound. It follows my physical journey with the cello through duality: my musical and my dance identities, tension and release, weight and dynamism. This creation is not about an emotional or philosophical idea: it aims to dive into the physical aspect of movement. Even though I feel the instrument as an extension of my body, the reality is that sound comes from my body, from my motions, my imagination. If we do abstraction of the cello, what stays? What is the choreography of my playing? What does it say about my relation to the instrument?
Isle Quartet
The Isle Quartet is a modern string quartet from the Netherlands, consisting of Linda Lukas and Sybren Holwerda on violins, Irene García on viola and Elsa Le Moigne on cello.
The quartet aims to write, record, and perform its own original compositions and occasionnaly takes part in collaborative projects such as the EigenGrau Ensemble.
Isle Quartet's music blends influences from jazz, folk, classical and latin music. Although the musicians all have deep roots in classical music, they are united by a passion to break free from genre stereotypes, to improvise and create new string quartet repertoire that is not confined by classical or jazz music.
The quartet performs in Jazz context (Tudengijazz Festival) as well as classical (Muziekzomer Gelderland). It was recently awarded the 3rd prize of the Jonge Makers Prijs.

Thordur Hans
The collaboration between Thordur Hans Baldursson and the musicians is through a proxy: a 2 meter tall car wash brush. The brush is a living sculpture, sculpted by the music. Together, Thordur and the performers have been exploring its performative potential, as well as catering to its whims and fancies.
The musicians queue up and wait for their cue, while the brush awaits its cue from the queue. One by one, the musicians take a seat, plug in, and play. Their music dictates the movement of the brush, but also vice versa. It is a dialogue, a conversation. The brush takes the role of a dancer, with its flowy turns, but also of the frizzy-haired conductor, with its sharp and precise movements.
The piece combines elements from two different experiences: getting your car washed on one hand and listening to live music on the other. But for Thordur they are also two sides of the same coin, the currency of utmost civility.

Hinkson Creek Park Trail Bridge
Niko Schroeder
Brno/The Hague Exchange Ensemble. Live recording at Janáček Academy of Performing Arts - 2023
Hinkson Creek Park Trail Bridge is a simple piece with a singular goal: to evoke the discovery of sound detail through focused listening. Said another way: finding sounds on the breeze. During the lockdowns, one of Niko’s favorite places to engage in this practice was at this piece's eponymous bridge, nameless and unremarkable to many, but vivid and acoustically active nonetheless.

Ato Perez
With classical Spanish guitar being his main instrument, Ato started writing and composing his own songs at the age of 12. By the age of 19 he released his first album 'Fools'. Nowadays, together with his band, Ato has developed a variation to the English-speaking country-folk singer-songwriter sound incorporating flamenco progressions (from singer's home country, Spain) creating a unique ambient sound. With only a classical guitar, cello, piano and his voice, Ato showcases the fusion of two styles, far apart in theory but then close in practice.
